AUSTIN, TEXAS, August 2020– Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) recently announced that Doss Cunningham, CEO of Nutrabolt, has been named an Entrepreneur of The Year® 2020 Central Texas Award finalist. Now in its 34th year, the Entrepreneur of The Year program honors entrepreneurial business leaders whose ambitions deliver innovation, growth and prosperity as they build and sustain successful businesses that transform our world. Cunningham was selected as one of 23 finalists.
An Austin native, Cunningham has been at the helm of Nutrabolt since 2007, taking the reins from former CEO and founder, Poul Bodholt.
Upon completing the prestigious PPA Accounting Program and receiving his Master of Science in Finance at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, Cunningham’s entrepreneurial passion and understanding of health and fitness has contributed to his success in transforming the company from a start-up to an industry giant.
Under Cunningham’s leadership, Nutrabolt has experienced exponential growth and is currently the largest independently held sports nutrition company in the world. Its portfolio of brands includes Cellucor®, makers of C4®, the bestselling pre-workout and fastest growing energy drink brand in the nation, and XTEND®, the number one BCAA (Branched-Chain Amino Acids) worldwide. To continue setting the standard for optimal sports nutrition, performance energy, and Nutrabolt’s reputation as a category disruptor, Cunningham will continue pushing boundaries while remaining true to the company’s mission — to innovate, inspire, and make products that maximize human potential accessible to all.
Within the broader nutrition space, Cunningham is also the co-founder and chairman of FitJoy Nutrition and an active investor through his family office’s investment arm, LivWell Ventures, a boutique early stage investment office focused on better-for-you lifestyle brands across food, beverage and nutritional supplements. Outside of the nutritional space, Cunningham has continued his entrepreneurial journey, co-founding Arrive Logistics in 2014. Arrive Logistics is a technologically differentiated freight brokerage that is on a path to reach a billion in annual sales. Cunningham is also a partner and principal investor in St. Louis based private equity group, Green Leaf Capital Partners.
Cunningham and his wife, Danielle, are also the founders of the GiveJoy Foundation. GiveJoy’s mission is focused on empowering and guiding students to a strong, healthy future through a program that emphasizes access to proper nutrition, advocacy of physical movement throughout the day and the importance of forming healthy habits and relationships.
“To be a finalist for the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award is such an incredible honor,” Cunningham shared. “The truth is, the past 15 years have gone by so fast that I really haven’t had a chance to reflect on all we’ve been able to accomplish.”
“This process has not only given me the opportunity to share my personal story, but also recognize the incredible work driven by our strong and resilient teams. Reflecting on our journey and the many great moments has brought me a lot of joy.”
Award winners will be announced through a special virtual event on October 8, 2020 and will join a lifelong community of esteemed Entrepreneur of The Year alumni from around the world. This year, unstoppable entrepreneurs who have provided extraordinary support for their communities, employees and others during the COVID-19 crisis will also be recognized for their courage, resilience and ingenuity.
